Welcome to the next update of the Wasteney/etc web page.
For those new to this, my name is Robin Wasteney.
I am 52 years old, married for 31 years to Georgina and have 2 children, Barry 25 yrs and Louise 21 yrs. I have been researching the name for some 15 years now and since the start of this page I have discovered many ‘Wasteney’s in the UK and America – many who turned out to be related, albeit distantly. I have to say that nearly the Wasteney’s I have met have turned out to the most wonderful people. The one’s in the UK I have met personally welcomed my family and me like their own and treated us like long lost brothers and sisters.
This goes for the American branch too – In 2002 we went to Oregon for three weeks and to a Wasteney reunion. WOW!!!! Again to be treated like long lost relatives by SO many Wasteney’s is extremely humbling. I will go into more details later in this page about the reunion.
On my last page I talked in detail about the New Zealand Wastney ‘family’ and how their emigration from the UK paved the way to the founding of Nelson and a new era for a new country. A recent letter from Mrs Natalie Wastney of Nelson, NZ has confirmed the following information about Edmund. There are two new places in Nelson where details of the Wastney name can be seen by visitors.
